Arizona health insurance for 2027
Arizona insurers have asked for 2027 increases from 3.26% to 33.90%, depending on the insurer. Those are requests, not final rates. If you qualify for a tax credit, it rises with the price of the benchmark Silver plan where you live.

Arizona's 2027 rate requests
Each insurer files its own increase, and Arizona's range is wide. The insurer you're with matters as much as the average.
Requests from 3.26% to 33.90%
These are the average increases insurers asked for, before any tax credit. We'll update this page when final rates are published.
A tax credit can absorb part of it
The credit is tied to the second-lowest-cost Silver plan where you live. When that plan's price goes up, so does the credit, which softens an increase if you qualify.
Shop again this year
With increases this uneven, the plan that was cheapest for 2026 may not be for 2027. We compare the plans sold in your county before you renew.
If your insurer is leaving Arizona's individual market
An insurer that pulls out of Arizona's marketplace doesn't renew its plans for 2027, so its members choose again.
What to do
Pick a 2027 medical plan from another insurer on HealthCare.gov. Choosing by December 15 means the new plan can start January 1.
If you don't pick one
HealthCare.gov may enroll you in a comparable plan from another insurer. Look it over before January, especially the doctors and prescriptions it covers.
AHCCCS changes in 2027
Arizona expanded Medicaid, called AHCCCS, on January 1, 2014. From January 1, 2027, some adults have new rules.
Work and community engagement
Some AHCCCS adults 19 to 64 will need to earn $580 a month or spend 80 hours a month working, in school, in training or volunteering, unless they're exempt.
Renewals every six months
Most of these adults will renew every 6 months instead of every year. Members who renew in 2026 stay on a 12-month cycle until their 2027 renewal.
Arizona's trigger law
State law ends coverage for expansion adults with income above 100% and up to 133% of the poverty level if the federal share of their cost drops below 80%, or if the state's funding for them falls short.
For Arizona employers
Arizona businesses can reimburse employees tax-free for individual plans through an ICHRA, which CMS now also calls a CHOICE arrangement.
