Nevada health insurance for 2027

Nevadans enroll through Nevada Health Link, the state's own marketplace, not HealthCare.gov. Open enrollment for 2027 runs November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027, and Nevada Health Link is the only place to get a tax credit that lowers your premium. We compare the plans with you and handle the application.

Enrolling through Nevada Health Link

Nevada runs its own exchange, so its deadline for a January 1 start isn't the one HealthCare.gov states use.

When your plan starts

Plans picked in November or December start on January 1. Pick one between January 1 and 15 and it starts on February 1. After January 15, open enrollment is over.

Tax credits only come with a Nevada Health Link plan

The federal premium tax credit is available in Nevada only on plans bought through Nevada Health Link. A plan bought directly from an insurer, off the exchange, gets no tax credit, so you pay the whole premium.

Enrolling with us

We enroll Nevadans through Nevada Health Link. We compare plans with you, check your doctors and prescriptions, and submit the application. Our help costs you nothing, and the premium is the same as it would be on your own.

If you have a plan now

Approved 2027 rates on Nevada Health Link rose 17.0% on average, and networks change too. Look at your plan's new premium and doctors before December ends, even if you mean to keep it.

What's changing in Nevada for 2027

Nine health insurers sell 133 plans on Nevada Health Link for 2027, and Battle Born State Plans are back for a second year.

Rates rose 17.0% on average

The Nevada Division of Insurance approved an average 17.0% increase for plans on Nevada Health Link, before any tax credit. Your own change depends on your plan, your age and your county.

Battle Born State Plans

Plans the state contracts for, which have to meet premium reduction targets. They're sold only on Nevada Health Link and open to Nevadans at any income. For 2027, three insurers offer them.

What the state says held the increase down

The state credits its Market Stabilization Program, paired with Battle Born State Plans, with an average 2027 increase nearly 7% lower statewide than projected costs.

Nevada Medicaid and the marketplace

Nevada expanded Medicaid in 2014 to most adults under 65 with income at or below 138% of the federal poverty level. Its new work rules start on January 1, 2027.

Work rules from January 1, 2027

Some adults on Medicaid will need to work, volunteer or attend school to keep their coverage, unless they're exempt. Exemptions include pregnancy, disability, serious health conditions and parents of children under 14.

Denied Medicaid over the work rules

A Nevadan denied Medicaid for not meeting the work rules can't get a tax credit or cost-sharing reductions on a Nevada Health Link plan. If that's where you are, talk to us before you choose a plan.

For Nevada employers

With an ICHRA, now also called a CHOICE arrangement, a Nevada employer reimburses employees tax-free for individual plans they pick themselves.

Questions from Nevadans

Is Nevada Health Link the same as HealthCare.gov?

No. Nevada runs its own marketplace, Nevada Health Link, and Nevadans enroll there. HealthCare.gov serves the states that use the federal marketplace.

When do I have to enroll for coverage that starts January 1, 2027?

Choose a Nevada Health Link plan in November or December 2026 and it starts January 1. Choose one between January 1 and 15 and it starts February 1, 2027. Open enrollment ends January 15.

Does it cost more to enroll through a broker in Nevada?

No. Insurers set their premiums and the state approves them, so the price is the same whether you enroll with us or on your own. The insurance company pays the broker.

What are Battle Born State Plans?

Plans the state contracts for, required to meet premium reduction targets and sold only on Nevada Health Link. For 2027, three insurers offer them.
